Glasgow - Écosse, Royaume-Uni

La titulaire de la Chaire UNESCO, la Professeure Véronique Guèvremont, les trois membres de la Chaire, Caecilia Alexandre, François Huleux et Clémence Varin ainsi que Géraud de Lassus Saint-Geniès, ont participé à la 16e édition du colloque annuel de l'Union internationale pour la conservation de la nature (IUCN). Celui-ci s'est tenu du 4 au 6 juillet 2018 à Glasgow, en Écosse et avait pour thème "The Transformation of Environmental Law and Governance : Innovation, Risk and Resilience".

Ils y ont présenté un panel de la Chaire UNESCO intitulé: "Preserving Nature in International Law : What Innovations have Arisen from the Emergence of Sustainable Development within UNESCO Cultural Conventions" lors duquel les thématiques suivantes ont été abordées :

• The Recognition of the Cultural Dimension of Sustainable Development in International Law (Véronique Guèvremont)
• Innovative Techniques for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage Associated with Biodiversity (François Huleux)
• The Indigenous Peoples’ Holistic Approach of Culture as a Way to Better Preserve Nature: The Role of the UNESCO Cultural Conventions (Caecilia Alexandre)
• Protecting and Promoting Cultural Diversity as a Climate Policy (Géraud de Lassus Saint-Geniès)
• The Environmental Challenges Raised by the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions in the Digital Age (Clémence Varin)
